The dungeons particularly the potions classroom were normal haunts of Snape but this was one time that Snape did not really want to be in the potions classroom he had assigned the task of brewing a particular potions to his fifth year students and the brewing was done and now it was time for grading, and this was an abysmal task to tend to as most of the student work was an affront to all those who would call themselves a potioneer. He sneer at a particular cauldron of slop produced by a Hufflepuff student as he gingerly lifted the ladle as the potion plopped back down into the cauldron before he let go of the ladle and took to scribbling in his notes to give each of the students on their work.
It was long and ardouse process getting through so many poor potions but it was a job that had to be done and he was determined that this was the time to do them as an unnamed official was visiting the school beyond that of their resident annoying official of Delores Umbridge. Severus didn't bother to find out who it was and decided his best option was to just appear to be about his work so he could easily excuse himself from certain things and look good to the official because he knew how judgmental the annoying toad got to be. She had the audacity to insinuate he wasn't qualified for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts because he'd been overlooked for the position for so long. He knew more than she could ever imagine. He was even at the point of thinking she might be worse than Lockhart the bumbling fool!

Lucius strolled up the pathway that led to Hogwarts. He was here in a triple capacity. Two official. One, a more personal reason. The two official reasons were, One, he was here in his position as a Hogwarts Governor. It was time for h the monthly visit, and as always, Lucius had ‘persuaded’ the other Governors to allow him to take the visit. He was determined to find something wrong the school and to finally get Dumbledore evicted from his position of Headmaster. Later on he would have his monthly meeting the man where they would discuss meaningless and pointless things, after which he would head back home to his wife. The second official reason, he was here as Advisor to the Ministry, and he would be talking to Umbridge and getting here report about the going on’s in the school. Hopefully she would have something better to report. She could have easily owled the report, but Lucius happened to visiting the school, and he gave the reason that he might as well drop in and get the report. And the final, more personal reason. He needed to talk to Severus. He had heard many rumors about the Dark Lord, and he needed to know if Severus had heard the same rumors.
He arrived at the gates, walking stick clattering against the stones. It was round about break time, and many students were out in the courtyard. As they saw him approaching, many of them fell silent, and stared at him. Most of the looks were of contempt from the Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, and the Gryffindors. He had no time for any of them. And most of the Slytherins were looking at him with awe. But that wasn’t surprising to him. Most of them were Pure-Blooded like him, and he was like a hero to them. To be able to get away with what he had, he would love himself to. Of course, he couldn’t just head straight to the dungeons. That would strange, and no doubt Dumbledore would find something wrong that. No. He would treat this like any normal inspection, and go to the dungeons when he came to them.
So, clipboard and quill in hand, he started his inspection, taking notes here and there. He saw Umbridge, got here report, and spoke to her. Unfortunately, she had nothing to report either. And then came the time he had been waiting for. He had arrived at the dungeons. He quick-marched down the steps, and arrived at the classroom he knew Severus would be in. He gave three sharp knocks before, heading into the room. “Severus. I thought I’d find you here. We need to talk. Now” He said the last word in an voice which meant he wasn’t taking no for an answer.

Severus hardly looked up from his work when he heard the three short raps at his door. "Come," he spoke just before the door opened. A frown appeared on his face at the impenitence of who ever had decided just to enter without a response to their knocking. He set another ladle down and had just picked up his quill to write when he heard the voice of none other than Lucius Malfoy.
Any grievances, he may have had a few moments ago were long gone as he didn't smile but it could be seen that he was pleased it was Lucius rather than some no-name idiot. He of course caught the tone of his friend if you could truly call the relation between Lucius and Severus friendship. "I would be more than pleased to answer any questions the ministry may have of me," he answered with a slight nod of his head. "Though it might be a bit more suiting speak in my office where one doesn't have to deal with the smell of poor student work."
Of course Snape didn't suggest his office simply because of the potion work he had been grading but because it was a little more secure than his classroom. They still couldn't speak freely as walls have ears even at Hogwarts and Severus was all to aware of that. "Before we get started though, I am pleased to inform you that your son Draco is performing rather well in my class even if a bit distracted at times." Severus wasn't exactly one to make small talk but he knew proper pleasantries needed to be exchanged and things needed to be kept misleading if they were to speak of the matters that he knew all to well Lucius wanted to speak of.

As Lucius entered the Classroom, he saw the slight frown appear on Severus’ face. Which soon disappeared when he realized who it was. Not that he was surprised. Him and Severus had, what you could call a friendship. It wasn’t exactly that, but they still respected each other quite a bit. He nodded back at Severus, and said “Excellent, but these question relate to matters outside of the Ministry Hands.” If someone were to overhear that, they would simply think he was talking about matters concerning the Board of Governors. Hopefully Severus would catch what he truly meant.
“Yes. Poor student work can provide to be an awful distraction at times.” he accepted the offer to go into his office. One could never be too careful around Hogwarts. In this place, the expression, the ‘Walls have Ears’ was literally true. That dreadful Headmaster was far too nosy for Lucius’ liking. But Lucius knew that Severus had a little more protection than most places in Hogwarts. It was truly impossible to speak freely in Hogwarts, but certain places did have more protection than others.
Once in the office, and the door was securely shut. Lucius took one of the seats provided, whilst Severus talked about his son. “That is good to hear. Other teachers have complained that he is lazy and doesn’t listen. So I’m glad to hear he’s doing well in something.” Of course he wasn’t here to talk about Draco. No. As much as he loved the boy, and yes, though others would say different, he did Love the boy. It was hard to Love him as much as Narcissa did, but still, he did his best. “I know I said that I was here about something other than Ministry business, but now that I think about there are a few questions that must be answered. Most of them Dolores would have already asked you, but I know how people... dislike her, so the questions must be asked.” Of course he could've done without the questions, but protocol must be observed, least the interfering busybodies, such as Dumbledore get suspicious.
