Aurora was sitting by the fire on the floor a table in front of her. She had been there for a long while just staring into the fire. She had a piece of parchment in front of her from her mother. It was a note they had written her about her father. Although the note had not been very long it had carried a great deal of meaning and had worried Aurora very much.
‘The ministry came by the manor today and told your father he has to go into questioning about he-who-must-not-be-named tomorrow. There have been many rumors, as you know, about your fathers allegiance. I cannot say much as this owl may be intercepted. I will inform you of what happens, you know the rules.’
That was all it had said. Aurora was super worried now and hadn’t gotten up from this spot for a good hour. She hadn’t talked to anyone or even looked away from the fire. She gripped onto the piece of parchment as if her life depended on it, she did not want anyone to try to take it from her and read it.
‘How does this happen?’ She thought. ‘Who was responsible? Daddy had better get off there was no way they had any proof. They had been so careful to cover everything up and she knew no one had let anything slip.’ She shook her head a little unable to believe this to be happening. ‘What would me and mother do if daddy does get locked up?’ This brought a small tear to her eye and she quickly blinked it away. She couldn’t think like that, he was going to get off there was no way he couldn’t. ‘They must have heard about daddy’s business this summer.’ She thought, ‘Going to Albania was probably not the best idea. But, daddy had been summoned and there was no way to avoid that.’ She nodded knowing everything would hopefully work out ok.
She knew she was to speak of this to no one and she knew that if ministry wizards came to talk to her she knew nothing. These were the rules her mother had been speaking of, she knew them very well. Her parents had made sure that she could not mistake them and that she knew them even at the worst of times. Although she could not help but be in shock and stared at the fire.
She was feeling antsy like she wanted to just leave this common room and do something incredibly crazy to take her mind off of everything. It had been taking everything in her power to stay in this one place. She knew once she got up there was going to be no stopping her.
