CLOTHING STYLE ;; Tyler prefers to wear anything designer. If it doesn't have a good name on the tag, he rips the tags off. He has no problem per se wearing non-designer, so long as it looks nice. He likes to layer and accessorize. Even when wearing his school uniform he'll find a hat or a pin, or a scarf. His clothes are tailored to fit tight in a way that shows off his body shape and one of his favourite things to wear is a belted black trench coat and red skinny jeans.
He needs glasses sometimes when he reads, but he often stubbornly refuses, or wears contacts lenses instead.

OVERVIEW ;; Tyler is ambitious. When he knows what he wants, he does his best to get it, and keep it. It's his most Slytherin quality. He's willing to lead people on if it means getting what he likes. There's no doubt that he can stand his own against almost anyone either. Without knowing he was a half-blood, you would think fit just as perfectly in the house as the rest of them. If people assume he's pureblood, he often won't even bother correcting them (so long as they think it's a good thing and not a bad one).
He's a little more willing to trust, and a little less paranoid than most of the other snakes because he hasn't been raised as a heir, and he doesn't have to worry about his mother or father becoming a death eater, but he does guard his secrets just as well. He knows it's unlikely he himself will be recruited by the dark cult either because of his personal blood status.
He's very territorial. Some would agree he's almost cat like. The way he carries himself and walks, his agility and flexibility, his playful smile, loyalty to those close to him. He has a mothering instinct towards the younger students, and Noe and his sister. He's also temperamental like a cat and can go from cuddling and smiles to hissing and defending his ground on seconds.
LIKES ;;
- Cats. Him and his mom leave food and water out for neighborhood strays sometimes, and they're friendly to Tyler, but he's not allowed to keep one as a pet.
- Foreign languages. Namely french. Tyler has spent some time over his summers (mostly at work when it's quiet) teaching himself to speak french and he likes using it as a 'special weapon' against Noel.
- Noel. They've been dating for a couple years now, and friends longer than that. He
- Fashion. Tyler would die for brand name designer label but he often can't afford it. He can easily make his own statements with less expensive clothes though and stitches old labels off other clothes into them to make them look name.
- Starry autumn nights. Or even starry nights in general. He finds it a little refreshing to know that there's so much out there no one knows because it makes him feel a little better about having gotten a few questions wrong on a test, or not knowing something. He alo finds them rather romantic.
- Spending time with his mum. All summer they do as much as they can together. Museums, fashion shows, nights on the town.
- Singing. Both doing it himself, and listening to Noel. He has a higher range than most and often means he can pull off songs sung by women better. He's also on occasion been known to insist that Noel sing him to sleep.
- Cuddling. Almost anywhere Tyler could curl up on Noel's lap like a cat and relax immediately. During most of his tantrums it's the best way to calm him down.
DISLIKES ;;
- People flirting with Noel. When girls flirt with his boyfriend he can get a little protective. He's protective of anything that's his and makes it obvious Noel falls into that category. They have claddagh rings to show it.
- People disrespecting his family. This counts not only his mother, but Noel and Renee as well (not so much their parents because he's never met them)
- Mud and dirt. Anything that can get on his clothes or in his hair. He likes to avoid outdoors in general (especially forests). Paved walkways any courtyards are fine, and he likes to look at scenery, but don't expect him to wander down to the lake for fun, or set a FOOT in the forest. Sure they look pretty, but the risk of mess is rarely worth it.
- Meatloaf. Every single time his mother makes it he pulls faces and reminds her how much he dislikes it. The smell, taste, texture. Just... ew.
- Blood and vomit. Any time someone gets a large injury like a cut and Tyler has to see it, he feels like he's going to be sick. He also doesn't like being sick or seeing people sick either though.
- Quidditch. He's never understood the excitement. Of course, he supports his boyfriend's love of it and watches every game he plays (mostly just to drool over him) he would even go with him to ones outside school, but he has no desire to play, and barely keeps track of any of it. He does enjoy leisurely flying though, and the way Noel looks in his gear.
STRENGTHS ;;
- Strong-willed. It's hard to get him to go against his own ideas on morals to hurt friends of loved one, or do something bad. It's hard to convince him to just change his ways.
- Persistence. If there's something he wants, he won't give up. He won't 'just forget about it'. If he wants to know something, he'll exhaust all his gossip sources. He doesn't give up when he can't find his answer or the object he wants. He spent an entire summer looking for the 'right' trench coat.
- Perfectionist. When he does something, he does it well. He won't stop until it's right, almost to the point of obsession. Sometimes he refuses to let people see something, or hand in assignments unless they're exactly how he wanted them to be and he's satisfied with himself. He never does is half-assed.
FLAWS ;;
- Can have a very 'I don't care' attitude. It makes him seem like a bitch, but he won't pay attention to anything when he's busy. He couldn't care less if you need to ask him a question while he's writing an essay, he would quickly snap at you for interrupting him. He also tends to not pay attention in classes he dislikes, or to people he doesn't get along with. He also ignores all the talk of Death Eaters and 'the Chosen One'.
- Stubborn. Once he makes up his mind it's rare that he changes it. Even getting him to leave bed can be hard if he's decided it doesn't suit his fancy to do anything that day. And if he's doing something someone doesn't like, for example humming, and they ask him to stop sometimes he refuses to.
- Can be rather vain. It his clothes or hair get ruined he tends to fuss over it. He also refuses to go anywhere in front of people without spending a slightly outrageous amount of time getting ready and dressed.
- Short tempered. One wrong word can have him drawing his wand or raising his voice at someone.
HABITS ;;
- He hums a lot. Any tune that comes to mind has to find its way out, usually through singing or humming it.
- Has routines. He always washes or styles his hair a certain way, has to get up or go to sleep at a certain time. He can be flexible sometimes, but not always. He also has a rough idea of what he eats at most meals and such, when he does his homework, when he does his chores at home.
AMBITIONS ;;
- To have a beautiful family. When he's older what Tyler wants most is a loving husband, and children. Preferable two or three. He wants what he didn't get. He also wants to be the biggest cheerleader for his kids as they're growing up and encourage them to chase even the smallest dreams.
FEARS ;;
- Noel's father. He knows that the man doesn't like half-bloods, he's heard stories. He also knows that it didn't go over well when Noel came out and he's afraid of the man trying to keep him and Noel apart.
- Animals. Dogs, bears, and magical beasts... and snakes... The only exception is cats. He's always afraid an animal attack will be the thing that does him in. A lot of animals are just fine to look at in pictures, but once he seems them he panics. Bugs are also scary to him.
SECRETS ;;
- His family. He doesn't tell a lot of people that he has a single mother and never met his father. Noel is one of the few who he's told. Mostly it's because he doesn't need pitty (or ridicule) from other students. He's happy with his family.
- The summer after fourth year. He won't tell anyone, but during fourth year he dated a 19 year old. He was a tourist and he often bought a lot of things for Tyler. They kissed and went on dates, but it didn't last more than two months. The other started trying to get a little more 'serious' with him, his hands wandering. For a while it was harmless, and then it got a little worse and Ty would just move his hands away gently or tell his to stop. Finally it got to a point where it was clear what he wanted and Tyler refused. The other was none too happy. Tyler broke it off and gave back everything the other got for him, but for weeks he wouldn't leave him alone. He would come to Tyler's work and start things until his co workers made him leave, he would sit outside Ty's house. Eventually his mom dealt with it. He doesn't talk about it with anyone. He's barely mentioned it to Noel even.

HISTORY ;;Tyler's mother and father were never married, and 0nly date briefly. He only met his father once, and didn't even know it was him. His father was french, and him mother is Canadian and french. They met while his mom was studying in France. His mother had no idea he was a wizard, so to find out her son was one definitely caused a bit of surprise. She was a single mother, no knowledge 0of magic. Reluctantly she agreed to let him attend school, but it took a lot of thinking and discussion with a friend of hers who had a child Tyler's age as well and was married to a wizard.
Growing up with no dad was hard for Tyler, and always being at daycare when she worked. It was a little easier because his mom's job gave her entire summers off. They spent tons of time together. They lived in Bristol, but he doesn't have a thick accent because him mother has almost no accent.
One summer when he was 9, his mom and her boyfriend at the time (who was quite wealthy) took him to France. He fell in love with the culture, specifically the fashion and the language. His mother's boyfriend happily spoiled him, bought high end designer clothes. It was all very nice. Tyler liked him, but by the next year, he wasn't in their life anymore (he dumped Tyler's mom for a younger woman).
During his first year of attending Hogwarts, he met Noel. He easily became friends with him when they were both sorted into the same house. They started dating in fifth year. Tyler had never particularly hidden his sexuality, heck he kissed a boy in the middle of the great hall in fourth year, and if you ask him why he says 'because I wanted to' but he's also never really be the kind of person who's purposefully in your face about it.
In the summer after fourth year Tyler got a seasonal job working at a department store. He always wants to be making things easier for his mom, and with what her teaching job pays, even minimum wage helped a bit. He feels bad him mom has to care for him and his expensive tastes. That's also why he actually doesn't own a lot of designer, he just rips the stitches of tags off his old clothing and sews the labels onto other clothes.
No one ever really asked Tyler is he was gay and, he never really said anything to anyone about it cause they didn't tend to ask. The first time it was obvious was when he kissed a boy in the middle of the great hall. He told him mom at the beginning of that summer about it, because he tells her almost everything. She was fine with it when he mentioned it. When he came home the next year telling her he had a boyfriend she reacted more in the proud mother sense than in disgust.
