Classes had just let out and Aurora, as usual was pushing past first years and anyone who was weak to make her way through the halls. Well, she had been until she looked over and saw an owl outside one of the windows, it had been following her for some time waiting for her to open the window and take the letter from it. She rolled her eyes as she pushed her way over to the window and stood on the big window sill, the window was a full sized window with a huge window sill, big enough for someone to stand on. She climbed on it unlatching the smaller window to reach the owl.
Aurora retrieved her letter and shooed the owl away hastily, she did not need people knowing she was getting owls from her family at all hours of the day and night. This one was from her father, she had been expecting it as he had not wrote to her in some time. She made her way down from the window sill and from the hallway into a deserted classroom and sat down at one of the chairs opening it slowly. She had been worried about receiving a letter from her father, these days it was hardly ever good. Most of the time when she heard from him it was bad news and it was just not something Aurora was wanting to hear especially after the day she had. She had exploded quite a few things in charms today as she had not been concentrating, she had also failed to pay attention in Defense Against The Dark Arts and had lost her house five points. She sighed unfolding the letter reading it.
‘I cannot tell you much in this letter. They have decided not to charge me at this point in time, although the ministry is keeping an annoyingly close eye on me. We need to arrange for a meeting at some point to discuss some business in person where others cannot hear. You should keep to yourself and keep the family name. Tell no one of anything we have told you so far, it could become a determining factor in certain situations if you do.’
That was all the note had said, Aurora stuffed it into her bad and sighed looking at the floor. ‘What does father want me to do now’Aurora thought to herself. It could be anything and she was, to be honest with herself, scared as to what was in store for her although she could tell no one. That was one of the bad things about growing up as she had, there was never anyone you could confide in and no matter what you did you never spoke of family situations. Sometimes you would not even speak of them with your family. This was how her father had been saved and not sent to Azkaban yet, she knew it they had been so careful in everything that there was nothing the ministry could pin him with.
Aurora took in a breath as she grabbed her bag making sure it was securely closed so nothing would come out of it when she heard the door open. ‘Oh great here we go again. Add on to the misery of this day.’
