HAIR ;; Gem has light brown hair that reaches just above his eyebrows. Usually left untidy, but more often than not, he will make some attempt to try and 'contain the beast' as his brother likes to say.
EYES ;; His eyes are a soft hazel color, and have been described as one of his best features, being beaten out by his personality. It has been said, that when you look into them, it is possible to get lost in their color.
HEIGHT ;; He stands at an average size of round about 5'9, give or take a few.
WEIGHT ;; He weighs in at the average of about 150-160, give or take a few.
BODY TYPE ;; His hair is often left un-groomed, apart from a quick brush when he get's up in the morning, and his eyes are often twinkling with anything from care and love to mischief and annoyance. He is lean and muscular, and can often be found swimming in the school lake, or jogging around the school grounds to keep himself fit. He has long slender fingers which come in handy when it come's to playing the piano, and his fingers have devloped permanent callouses under his finger-nails from years of playing the guitar.
CLOTHING STYLE ;; He can usually be found wearing the standard Hogwarts uniform, but it tends to be a little bit more, untidy than it should be. The tie isn't also done up properly, and the shirt doesn't tend to be tucked in. During his early morning runs, he is usually found wearing jogging bottoms and a jumper. On occasion, he can be found wearing muggle attire in the form of jeans and jumper.

OVERVIEW ;; Gem can be called nearly the complete opposite of his father. Whereas his father is a complete human supremacist, ie: he doesn't believe that non-humans (Vampires, Hags, House Elves etc) and 'half breeds' (Werewolves, Half-Vampires, Half-giants etc) should be granted rights or be allowed to be carry a wand, Geminus thinks that should be allowed, and is has even joined various equal-rights groups, without his father knowing. He is also a superb cook, and has even ventured into the kitchens on more than one occasion to cook himself a meal, and the house elves all still love him.
He is also a firm Quidditch supporter, and has supported the Montrose Magpies since he was 6 years old, and hasn't missed a single home match yet. He himself has played the role of chaser on his own team since his third year. He doesn't believe in all the house rivalry, and has even tried to befriend Slytherins before, which has caused him to end up in the Hospital Wing on more than one occasion.
He could also be described as being bookish at times, as more often than not, around exam time, you'll probably find him studying in the library.

HISTORY ;; On the 8th August 1979, Geminus James Rattagin, and was proclaimed healthy immediately. Within days of being born, it was clear that he had inherited his father’s magical skill, as he seemed to be able to do things that Muggle children could not, for example, he was able to somehow get his favorite toys into his crib, even after his parents had taken them away and put them somewhere else. Most of Gems life growing up was normal enough. He lived in Northern Ireland with his family, but they took yearly trips to Canada, France, and London to visit his mother family. Two years later, Gem’s brother Troy was born.
When Gem was 9, his family took their annual trip to Canada to visit his mother’s Great-Grandparents. It was during this trip that a tragedy would befall the family. The only muggle member of the family that knew anything about Magic was his mother. His Grandparents and Great-Grandparents hadn’t been told. His Great-Grandparents had arranged for the 6 of them to take a moonlit walk through the forest that was behind their house. As they got deeper into the Forest, James began to get a bit nervous, and started to suggest that they turn around and go back to the house, but his Great-Grandparents dismissed his claims, saying that they had walked through the forest many times before, and not once had anything bad happened. James didn’t say anything else, but still couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. And he was proven right, when as they proceeded into a deeper part of the forest, the 6 of them were attacked by a werewolf. James had no choice. He pulled out his wand, and started to cast protective charms, before turning to face the Werewolf, only to find that it had disappeared. He started to put his wand away, turning around so that he could start to try to explain to his Grandparents-in-law what had just happened. But before he could say anything else, the werewolf returned, and this time James wasn’t quick enough. Before he could do anything, the creature had barreled into him, knocking him to the ground. His Wand was knocked away from him, and before he could anything, Helen was attacked, and killed. Gem was next, but before the werewolf could do any serious damage, James had recovered, and managed to knock the werewolf away. Before it could recover, James picked up both Geminus and Troy, and pushed his Grandparents-in-law towards the house.
When they arrived back home, the first thing James did was make sure that Gem was fine. He performed his best medi-magic, and after a few tense minutes, he declared that he would fine for the night, but he would have to be taken to a hospital first thing in the morning. Before he could do anything else, his Grandparents-in-law made him tell them the truth about everything. So James did. After he had finished, they found it hard to believe, but after that night, they couldn’t exactly say it wasn’t true. They understood why he hadn’t told them, and said they were sorry what magic had cost him, and he was still welcome in their house anytime. When morning came around, James used his Ministry connections to get a one time, short time, connection to the floo network from their house to St Mungos. Once there, it was determined that Gem would survive, but he was going to be a werewolf. His father was taught how to prepare a Wolfsbane potion, and the correct procedure on how to administer it.
On his eleventh birthday, when Gem’s Hogwarts letter came around, his father was worried about how school was going to work, due to his condition. So he arranged a meeting with Professor Dumbledore. It was decided that Professor Snape would make his Wolfsbane until such a time he could create it himself, and that an empty classroom would be kept out of bounds for the time that he was at school, which he could use to transform in.
Gem’s time at school has been pretty normal. Usually due to Quidditch, but also because of his fascination with magical creatures, Gem has pretty much got a bed reserved for him in the hospital wing. Madame Pomfrey is on a first name basis with him, and his file is kept in a separate cabinet for easy access. He did well enough in his O.W.Ls.
However, his history isn’t all fine. Even though his son is one, James finds it hard to let go of his prejudices’, and this has led to more than one argument between the two. Gem can’t believe that his father still thinks like this, and his father tries to forget that his son is a werewolf. Against his father’s wishes, and without him knowing, Gem has joined a few Magical Creature Equal Rights group, and he knows if his father finds out, it will cause of the biggest rows to date, and will most likely end in Gem being disowned.
