Seamus let out a sigh as he rubbed the hair on his head. He was covered in dirt and sweat. It had been the first practice of the year and it had been rough. Never had he been through so many drills sure Wood was a beast as Captain but he didn't remember it being that bad. At the very least practice was over and he could focus on more important things like getting some more food.
Sure, Seamus ate supper just like everyone else that evening and even had second helpings but he was hungry! It made sense to be hungry after a long hard practice didn't it? Not that it mattered because even without that quidditch practice he was probably going to be hungry. He was like an empty bit as of late his mam even joked about him eating her out of house and home and was glad that he would be at Hogwarts where he could eat them out of their food supplies. He didn't think he was being that bad, sure he was hungry almost all the time but he wasn't eating that much was he?
He let his wonder go as he reached up to tickle the pear. It was fortunate he had found out about the kitchens through a few people in his house. It was one of those secrets that really wasn't a secret and just passed on from one person to the next.
He figured Neville and Luna were in the green houses while he was at practice and he wanted to go see them before curfew but first food, he couldn't concentrate on anything with out at least a light snack to get him through. He knew if they weren't engrossed in some plant that they would figure for him to be here of all places and if not he would simply join them after his snack. It worked out either way you looked at it. "Uh... yeah... I could go fer a bit more of that nosh that was up on the tables earlier tonight if ya have some left." answered Seamus to the inquiring elves that many times made him feel a bit uncomfortable. He was good at getting his own stuff and would be happy to do such if he even knew where stuff was there in the kitchens and the elves would let him but they wouldn't and seemed to bother him more if he tried to go on his own in the kitchens which was their domain.

Aurora made her way up to the kitchens, the common room was just too crowded tonight. Sometimes it got like that and she always just left. She hated dealing with all the people and the noise level. When this happened she would generally go to the kitchens. There was never anyone in there and all she had to deal with were the house elves, but they usually just got her what she wanted and left her alone. She wasn’t particularly hungry she had gone to dinner but had it cut short because she had a detention.
Earlier that day Aurora had jinxed someone in the corridors just as Flitch walked up and had earned herself a detention. She didn’t much care, she got detentions all the time for things like that. She was more concerned that they were going to send an owl to her parents and she was sure her father would send a howler. She had tried to counter it by sending him an owl explaining why she had jinxed the girl and that she had to do it, but she wasn’t for sure if it would work. The girl had said something rude about her father, a rumor that had been going around. Aurora could not deal with people spreading those rumors especially about her family.
Aurora reached the painting of the bowl of fruit, she wasn’t for sure why they chose this picture for the kitchens entrance. She looked up at it extending her arm tickling the pear. The portrait swung open revealing an opening. She walked through looking around to see if anyone was in here. ‘Of course’ She thought seeing a boy in there she believed his name was Seamus. He played quidditch for Gryffindor, but she didn’t know much about him except that she thought he was cute. But, with her background and family there was no way anything could come of it. He wasn’t a pureblood and clearly had different values and morals than her. She looked down as the house elves surrounded her, “I want an apple.” She said to whichever elf would get her one immediately. She wasn’t for sure if she should talk to the boy or not. She knew she shouldn’t but she kind of wanted to, ‘Why is my life so confusing sometimes.’ She thought to herself letting a brief sigh escape her.

Seamus was surprised by the house elves as they returned bringing almost everything that had served that evening. It didn't seem like much on the house tables but now it was like a veritable feast! Seamus' eyes bugged out a bit. He took a moment to gape before he got his motor mouth functions to operate once more. "I'm sorry. I didn't want yah to bring the entire meal to me. I meant I wanted some of that beef casserole." Seamus frowned slightly as he took a plate a plate from an elf and served himself some of that. He immediately started getting a coruse of appologies and questions if whether he the young master would be wanting to select from the desert course. "It's okay really," tried to reassure Seamus making his way to a seat. "Yah brought me what I asked for. I appreciate it. You were great." Here Seamus tried to smile as he took a seat at a table that was there in the kitchens. "I'll let yah know if I'll be wantin' anything else." he assured them before as they stood there waiting for him to answer their question about the desert course having been placated by his compliments of doing a great job.
He had barely started to tuck in when the elves came rushing forward to gather around the door as someone else entered into the kitchens. He recognized her a Aurora Davies. He didn't know her know her per-say but he knew who she was and that she played Chaser on the Slytherin team. He was surprised off all things that he found himself thinking she was kind of cute. At that thought Seamus turned to his nosh once more and waited for the elves to serve her an apple. Wasn't there some muggle saying that pertained to Apples? He didn't know it and he hardly thought that Davies would care to hear it. So he settled for a different kind of remark. "Didn't expect the likes of you to come round here." He remarked to her as she stood there almost seeming to debate something. His tone was not harsh are hostile but rather neutral. He didn't have a particular quarrel with the girl and he wasn't aiming to have one. He may hate the house she was in, and wouldn't trust her any farther than he could throw Crabbe or Goyle but that didn't mean he had to go around picking fights either.

The house elves rushed back to her giving her a variety of fruits, one of which was an apple. She took the apple and saw an orange, “Cut the orange up for me.” She said as she looked over her nose at them. She had always been taught that house elves were not of equal value and there was no point in treating them as such. She looked at the apple and took a bite out of it waiting for her orange. ‘House elves are so slow sometimes.’ She thought looking around.
Aurora heard the boy say he didn’t expect the likes of her to come around here. ‘What does that even mean?!’ She was confused as to weather he was just trying to talk or if he was being rude. She placed her hands on her hips and turned slowly to face him. “What is that supposed to mean?” She asked him. “Just because I am a girl and in Slytherin doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes roam around the castle. I am in this kitchen more often than not.” She stated matter of factly. She wasn’t mad and her voice didn’t show any hint of her being mad or upset. She had no reason to be mad or upset with the boy, but she had always learned that if you don’t tell people how it is they will walk all over you and that was no acceptable for her. She started slowly walking toward him.
“What are you having?” She asked looking down at the table. It looked like something from dinner that night but she wasn’t for sure. The house elves rushed back over to her with her plate of oranges. “That will be all.” She said again not making eye contact. She looked away from the boy and found a table somewhat close to him so if he wanted to continue talking they could. She couldn’t help but notice how cute he looked she could tell he had just gotten done with practice. Aurora herself had practice that morning and again the coming morning. They were training hard so they would stomp the other teams out. She wanted to win the house cup so badly she could almost taste it. People always told her that she was too competitive, but she couldn’t help herself, she loved the adrenaline rush she got when she was competing for something.

Seamus was a bit surprised by Aurora's reaction. Though maybe he shouldn't have. He gave a shrug in response to her demands. "It doesn't mean anythin" he spoke. "Yer house has nothing to do with it though. Just sayin that you didn't strike me as the type ta be looking for an evening snack"
After his words Seamus turned back to his food taking another bite as he watched Aurora through his peripheral vision. If he was honest with himself he found the girl to be quite the looker. He passed over the idea though cause she was a Slytherin and that made her the enemy.
"Unless the Slytherin house gets somethin different on their tables it's the same thing ya had for supper, beef casserole." Seamus took another bite almost for added effect as she sat at a different table. Was she that affronted by him? Sure Slytherins and Gryffindors don't mix and he wasn't looking to be best friends with the girl but surely they could sit at the same table.
"I don't bite," he remarked casually glancing up at Aurora, "Or is it a matter that my heritage is an affront to ya?" He wasn't trying to be cross or mean but the words just sort of tumbled out and it was a good point some Slytherin gits couldn't stand to be near something so impure as he was. After all he was half n half. His da may have been a right git leaving him and his mam but he still had a certain pride for his heritage from wizard and muggle all the way down to being Irish.

Aurora smirked a little at his comment, she defiantly liked his fiery attitude. He seemed to be even more dominate than she was, which she found almost impossible to believe. That almost never happened. “It wasn’t so much an evening snack as wanting to get away from people.” She said in an offhand way. “Sometimes the common room is too crowded and I just want to get away from them. It’s not that we don’t get the same thing you all do, the house elves can make or get you anything at any time of the the day.” She mentioned shrugging a little. “Plus I had detention, so I missed most of dinner. Why are you here? I mean it is obvious you just got done with practice, did you not get enough at dinner?” She let a playful smile slip.
‘Aurora behave! You can’t be giving playful smiles to people like him. He is a Gryffindor and will probably use it against you!’ She reminded herself. Sometimes she couldn’t help it, if she saw a cute guy she was a flirt and it just came natural nothing she could do about it. Although she often tried to hold herself back and just deal with it.
Aurora heard his comment about heritage and rolled her eyes. He was a half blood she knew that much about him, so he wasn’t all bad. She looked over at him noticing he had blue eyes trying not to smile, she loved blue eyes and couldn’t help look a second longer than she maybe should have. To prove him wrong she got her stuff and moved to his table, “I would hope you wouldn’t bite me. If you did that would be the biggest problem I have with you up until this point.” She said smirking a little avoiding the heritage comment. She knew she probably shouldn’t be sitting here with him, but there was something about him that she couldn’t help but fancy a little. He was good looking and his attitude, oh his attitude. He was able to put her in her place and there was something about that she fancied, a lot.
Aurora picked up one of her orange slices and eat it, “How’s your team looking this year?” She asked casually unsure of what to talk about and trying to avoid any subject that would make them argue. They did have to share the kitchen for now at least. She knew he probably wouldn’t tell her anything about his team because they would want to keep that a secret, but she felt the need to ask anyway.

There was a slight coy smile that played on Seamus' lips when she asked him if he missed some of his dinner as well. Also detention already? It amused Seamus a bit and oddly earned her some minor respect in his books. Not that breaking rules were a good thing but sometimes you had to give credit where credit was due. Not to mention she had a cute smile. "Naw, didn't miss supper, but somethin about practice just sorta makes yah hungry." He figured the honest truth worked he didn't need to state how he was almost always hungry. At least the beef casserole was hitting the spot and he could more than likely go to bed satisfied, if not he had a stash of candy he kept in his trunk. That was one thing that seemed never to catch on fire.
Aurora mentioned how she hoped he wouldn't bite her and it would be the biggest problem she would have with him, Seamus laughed a bit. "Don't worry, I don't often get the urge to bite people." The words held a bit of innuendo and slipped out before he could stop them. He stirred his food looking down at it after he realized what he had said. Maybe she wouldn't read it as more than just a really bad joke.
"You aren't going ta get any quidditch secrets from me, if that is what you are lookin for. Buy yeah, things are lookin alright. How 'bout yer team?" he asked finally lifting up a bite of his food rather than just stirring it around like he was.

Aurora nodded a bit, “Practice usually makes me hungry too.” She stated, “But since we practice early enough I can always catch breakfast.” She said smiling a bit. It usually did make her hungry, but lately most things did with her being so concerned about her mother and father and their family situation. When stressed she would tend to eat a lot.
Aurora smiled when Seamus laughed, he had such a pretty smile she hadn’t been able to help herself. “So when do you get the urge to bite people?” Aurora asked smirking. She hadn’t been able to help herself it had escaped her before she knew what had happened. This didn’t often happen but being in the presence of someone so attractive, she hadn’t been able to help herself.
Aurora batted her eyelashes playfully and said, “Why no secrets?” She pouted a little unable to help herself. Then smiled sitting back in her chair taking another bite of her orange. She was going to give up trying not to flirt with him. She didn’t honestly expect to get any secrets, she just wanted to mess with him a bit. “I’m the last person you will get Quidditch secrets out of.” She said giving him a playful smile. She knew she shouldn’t be flirting with him and was really wishing he wouldn’t take it the wrong way. She was just being playful nothing could really come of them right?

So he wasn't the only one who got hungry after practice. It just was unfortunate that his practice was in the evenings. Though he had a feeling he would still find himself getting an evening snack on occasion all the same. "Guess it works out better for yeh." shrugged Seamus eating another bite.
Seamus' eyes popped up at Aurora as she asked him when get did get the urge to bite. He supposed he walked into it and he figured he might as well play along it was only him, Aurora and the house elves. They wouldn't tell, he wouldn't tell and it would be social suicide on her part if she told. He was a half blood after all. So as he relaxed a bit an allowed a confident smile to cross his face. He let out a chuckle, "I'll let you know if I suddenly get the urge." He took a small bite an pulled the fork slowly from his mouth ideas that probably shouldn't be there popping into his mind. Bloody hell, what was he thinking?
He tried to dismiss the thoughts, but she kept up that cute smile and that teasing nature. "Ya know full well why no secrets," answered Seamus, "The same reason I won get any from you." Seamus gave his answer but he knew well that secrets at least quidditch secrets were not the topic of interest and discussion there was something so much more going on now. Damn her and her wile ways. "I suppose you're the Gringotts of secrets though huh?" he asked flirting in almost the same manner that she was just not eyelash batting.

Aurora giggled a little as Seamus’ eyes popped up at her after she asked when he bites. He had such pretty blue eyes that she couldn’t help but stare into them. She knew they should be safe talking in here because well no one ever came down here unless they absolutely had to. “Please do let me know.” She said mischievously. It took everything in her not to lean across the table and whisper in his ear that she may like that. But, she kept her composure and took another bite of her orange slices.
She grinned as he told her she wouldn’t be getting any secrets and smirked a little as he started flirting back. “Gringotts could not hold this many secrets.” She said flirtatiously back. Although it was in a sense true, she did have a lot of secrets and so did her family. But, that was not of importance right now. What was important was that she was sitting here flirting with a cute guy, even though she knew she shouldn’t.
Aurora looked around a little and playfully said, “So where are you friends? I thought you all never left each other.” She smiled, it was pretty true. It was rare to see Seamus without that Longbottom or even worse that Lovegood character. She couldn’t handle her, Lovegood drove her up the wall with all her weirdness. But, she was going to refrain from insulting either of them right now as she knew they were his best friends and if she wanted the conversation to continue in this manner it was not the best idea.

There was a coy smile on Seamus' lips as Aurora asked him to tell if he did get that urge to bite. He didn't say anything but rather just set his fork down he didn't think he was very hungry any more. He could have easily said he had the urge then because that idea was becoming a bit intriguing but he didn't because it was a crazy idea. She was a she was a she devil, a temptress. Why did she have to come in such a lovely package?
"Sounds like it might be dangerous," he spoke leaning in his tone low he was flirting there was no doubt about it now. He kind of liked the idea of danger. There was something fun, forbidden by it. Wasn't there a saying that forbidden fruit tasted the sweetest? Merlin he was not holding off well as he was wondering what those lips of hers tasted like.
The next question though light did provide a bit of a distraction for Seamus as he looked down at his food for a moment just to give himself a bit of a respite. If the table hadn't been between them they might have been something between them but the table provided a barrier for acting on instinct. "Luna and Neville? They are are probably in the green houses. Neville has a thing fer plants and less for quidditch. Besides practice isn't the best thing for spectators." Unless a person was trying to spy but Seamus just kept his mouth from saying that as that thought was accusing and he really didn't want to accuse in that moment. He liked things as they were and they both agreed on no quidditch secrets and there was no cause to think the team had been spied on though he wouldn't put it past one of them.

Aurora grinned as she noticed Seamus had started catching on and flirting back. She didn’t know why but he intrigued her and she could not help but to at least give it a try. When he leaned in a little Aurora did the same giving him a flirtacious smile. “So you like the dangerous ones?” She asked playfully. Something about him made her attracted and even though her father would burn her alive if he ever saw her right now she did not care. She was having fun and she wasn’t able to help herself. Something about him made her want to see what would happen if she kept flirting with him.
Once Seamus answered the question about his friends Aurora leaned back again taking another bite of her orange for something to do. She needed a second that’s why she had asked the question. She was doing everything she could to not act on her urges and in her opinion she was doing a wonderful job. “That makes sense just did not know why you did not go see them first. Or were you just too hungry?” She asked trying to keep the conversation light so that they could both cool down if he wanted. She was also trying to avoid the conversation of quidditch because she knew if they got talking about it they would probably end up in an argument.

Aurora asked him if he liked dangerous ones and Seamus wasn't sure what to answer so he allowed his mouth to quirk upward at the side and then shrugged. He liked dangerous at least he liked it on Aurora but he wasn't at the point of wanting to say that he liked dangerous in general, but there was definitely an appeal of it at that moment. That was why he wasn't confirming or denying the whole idea of his liking dangerous.
When she remarked on him not meeting with his friends Seamus gave another shrug and took a bite of his food. "Ya could say that. I don't mind Neville and his talkin about plants but they aren't so much my thing. Sides, they know I usually come 'ere after practice. They know I'll catch em later." He took another bite of food glancing at the door hoping he would be intruded upon with Aurora, as much as he loved his best friends he didn't want to have this moment interrupted. He didn't think Luna or Neville would judge him per-say but he would be hard pressed to explain the situation all the same.

Aurora grinned a little as she saw Seamus just shrug. She had a feeling he didn’t like dangerous things, but he was talking to her so he had to have a bit of a taste for it. She looked off for a second looking at one of the house elves, they were also so helpful she didn’t understand it. She shook her head a little remembering that she was not to make eye contact with them in any way or they may consider themselves as equals.
“Plants are not really my thing either.” She commented thinking about it. She did not understand why everyone at this school loved plants so much. She didn’t even so much as like the outdoors, it was dirty and she just was not into that at all, except for when it came to playing quidditch but that was different. Much different. Aurora leaned back in her chair and looked at Seamus, she was a little unsure what to say as she did not know the boy very well, all the really knew was he was friends with Longbottom and that he played quidditch. She also knew he had a bit of a temper and that was what she kind of liked, although she was unsure of why.

Seamus nodded, there weren't too many people who were into plants quite like Neville. "Yeah, Neville luvs em and could spend hours in the green houses. Luna is kind of fond of em too. She winds up talkin about all sorts of creatures livin in them. Things like Narggles in the Mistletoe. It sounds crazy but some times ya almost can't help but to believe her." Seamus smiled a bit thinking on his friends. That was what he loved about Luna was some her crazy ideas. He didn't believe in all of them but the way she spoke with such conviction about some things you couldn't help but believe as well. Not to mention she was pretty smart and had some good ideas.
Besides what did it hurt if he found himself wary of wakspurts crawling into his head. Many times even if the creature didn't exist the actions that she'd ask him to take to ward against them was good for him any way. Such as writing in a journal, it was probably for the best. He couldn't remember what it was that it was supposed to help with but in the end it didn't really matter. She was his friend and she asked him to, so he was going to try to keep that sort of thing up, at least until he lost the bloody book or accidentally set it on fire.
